In the documentary about the Buddahfeild cult, Holy Hell, many members were still astonished that the head guy, was still, at seventy, wearing speedos. I just need to get this off my chest: speedo-wearing is a way of life. Just look at old footage of Jacques Cousteau. Just saying.

It's been an eventful week. I did work a bunch and still writing and editing my novel. I've been having way too much wine, but at least the sex has stopped somewhat which is a good thing. Of course, the election is over. I'm not sure how I feel about RFK becoming secretary. I like the guy and all, and I agree we use way too many vaccines in this country. But I can't help but wonder if there's an political agenda behind it all. I guess I'm cynical.

I'm reading the book Ancestral Medicine It's pretty good, all about linage and trauma from the ancestors and the not-quite-dead. But also it's about their blessings and gifts. I may do some of the rituals. I'll post the results here.

I heard something on the Weird Studies podcast today with Ramesy Dukes. He talks about going into boredom. And, he was talking about magic and I've shared this with MJ. He said that basically at a certain age you do less and less magic, or for lack of a better word manifestations, and more ritual. Because as you get old you simply don't need things anymore, or you have different values. A very true statement.

I am determined to finish several books and when I do, I vow to publish them here. I'd like to do like Tao Lin and publish which books I read each year. Also, I keep track of how many days I drink and/or stay sober. I've done quite well this year not drinking for ninety days January, February and March and then quitting sixty days September and October.
